Staff and volunteers at Beverly Hills United Methodist Church have been hard at work stocking bags with PPE for everyday Michiganders returning to their industries.

BEVERLY HILLS, MI — As Gov. Gretchen Whitmer phases Michigan into the next part of her Mi Safe Start plan, many Michiganders are getting ready to return to work.

Beverly Hills United Methodist Church is helping them do it safely.

Church staff and volunteers are giving away more than 250 bags stocked with personal protective equipment everyday Michiganders may need as they return to jobs across industries, including retail stores, movie theaters, nail and hair salons, bowling alleys and barbershops.

“We have hand sanitizer, gloves and masks,” Contreda Navarro-Jewell told The ‘Gander. She’s the church’s secretary and assistant to Pastor Anthony Ballah.

She was recently recruited to work with the church’s outreach ministry.

“People are going back to work soon and with all that travel, they should have something to keep them safe in their cars,” Navarro-Jewell said.

The giveaway begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 6 and is scheduled to end at 1:00 p.m., or as long as supplies last.

Beverly Hills United Methodist Church is located at 2000 W 13 Mile Road, Beverly Hills, MI 48025.
