MICHIGAN—The holiday season may look a bit differently this year, but there is one tradition that will never change. All over Michigan, families use these last warm December days to decorate their homes top to bottom in festive lights.
Many traditions have had to be postponed because of COVID-19, but these lights shine brightly and remind communities that there are still safe ways to find the holiday spirit this season.
Here we have compiled a list of a dozen free light displays in the Metro-Detroit area. The entire journey will take you and your loved ones a few hours, and it may prove to be a new tradition that continues even after the pandemic ends.
So, follow these directions, pile the whole family in the car, and grab something warm to drink on the way.
