These 11 lavender farms in Michigan offer everything from U-pick to special events and private parties.

Looking to visit lavender farms this summer? We’ve rounded up 11 of the best lavender farms in Michigan you can visit to enjoy activities such as picking lavender bundles to use at home, shopping for lavender-infused products, enjoying farm-fresh goodies and drinks (lavender lemonade, anyone?), and countless events.

Lavender is known for its calming and anti-stress properties, as well as improving overall quality of life through tea and aromatherapy. Want to enjoy all that lavender can offer but can’t make it out to the farm? No problem—many of the lavender farms we included on our list also offer shipping for all of their products so you can enjoy Michigan-grown lavender, no matter where you live.

1. Twin Flame Lavender Farm

3849 Monroe Rd, Allegan, Mich. 49010

Twin Flame Lavender Farm in Allegan, Michigan, grows all of its lavender from seed without using herbicides or pesticides. How dedicated are they to a pure product? Well, they hand-weed all of their lavender beds, if that gives you any idea! They also specialize in only using high-quality English Lavender varieties and hydro-distill their lavender, which leads to higher-quality scents and aromatherapeutic properties.

You can shop all of the farm’s products, like soap, lip balms, sprays, and lotions, on its online shop or at one of the many local markets and craft fairs where they sell their ware in person. The farm also runs events, like yoga on the farm, so check its event calendar for upcoming activities to attend.

2. Sixteen Sprigs North Lavender Farm

4851 N State Rd, Alma, Mich. 48801

I was able to touch base with Sixteen Sprig lavender farm owner Wynne Wright, who was away traveling in France but confirmed that although the farm’s Facebook page lists a Lansing address, the Lansing location was recently sold. Thus, Sixteen Sprigs is currently operating at the Alma location only.

The farm hosts many seasonal events and sells farm-fresh goodies, such as lavender tea, lavender chocolate, shower gel, and even lavender-themed jewelry.

3. Lavender Hill Farm

7354 Horton Bay Rd N, Boyne City, Mich. 49712

Lavender Hill Farm in Boye City, Mich., has two major accolades to boast about: not only is it the largest lavender farm in Michigan at 33 acres, but it’s also one of the few lavender farms only year-round in the mitten state. Admission to the farm to enjoy its walking trails, labyrinth, gardens, events barn, and boutique is free, but there are also ticketed classes and workshops throughout the year.

The gorgeous farmhouse and shop is a staple on the property and worth a visit alone, but visitors can also enjoy things like farm tours and even become a “Farmer For a Day.” Most ticketed tours also end with a refreshing cup of lavender lemonade and a farm-fresh cookie. Yum! Owner Jess Chmielewski says the farm hosts concerts, weddings, tours of the farm and workshop, and “so much more,” so visitors are always welcome.

4. Bohemian Lavender

8181 S Shimek Rd, Maple City, Mich. 49664

Plan a visit to Bohemian Lavender farm between mid-June to mid-August to enjoy activities like U-pick lavender as well as shopping and enjoying the artists that frequent the grounds to paint the beauty of the lavender plants. Some of the treats you can expect to find on the farm include lavender oil, hydrosol, culinary buds, homemade jams, lavender crafts, soaps, candles, and lavender cookies with lemon frosting, which are a popular tourist treat.

The owners encourage visitors to pack a picnic lunch and find a place on the farm to enjoy an outdoor meal surrounded by the fragrance of the plants.

5. Indigo Lavender Farms

631 N Van Dyke Rd, Imlay City, Mich. 48444

This particular lavender farm is located just down the road from me, so I’ve driven by it plenty of times and dreamed of visiting. Conveniently located on M53, the farm is easily accessible and always booming with events, especially during the warm-weather months. For instance, the farm hosts “Lavender Daze,” a one-of-a-kind weekend festival in July to celebrate all things lavender, as well as events like wreath-making and planting workshops.

Photographers are also welcome to visit the 50-acre farm for paid photo sessions, with different times of blooming throughout the summer.  The farm is home to 14,000+ plants, including nine varieties of lavender. Visitors will find fields of lavender as well as a farm store, greenhouse, garden, chicken coop, wetlands and more. All the plants are grown without pesticides or other chemicals and are hand-weeded and nurtured for quality.

6. Harbor View Nursery & Lavender Farm

17770 Center Rd, Traverse City, Mich. 49686

Featuring around 6.5 acres of lavender and over 50 handmade, natural products, the Harbor View Nursery and Lavender Farm in Traverse City offers free admission to visitors. According to owner Sonja Richards, the main bloom time is late June through most of July, with a second bloom occurring through September, so if you’re looking for peek lavender season, be sure to stop by during those timeframes.

Richards also owns The Cherry Stop, where you can find over a dozen jams and condiments made on the farm, dried cherries, and cherry-picking in July.

7. Summerhouse Lavender Farm

2975 65th St, Fennville, Mich. 49408

Tucked away in Fennville, Michigan, just minutes from downtown Saugatuck, the Summerhouse Lavender Farm is a fragrant and peaceful oasis. Starting in May, visitors can enjoy the on-site farm and Aromatherapy Store or book a stay at The Lavender House, a vacation rental in the middle of lavender fields that features a beautiful outdoor patio and gardens to explore.

Can’t make it out to Saugatuck? No problem—Summerhouse also has an online shop where you can buy farm-made lavender products year-round.

8. Lavender Life Farm

464 Stanton Farms Drive, Caledonia, Mich. 49316

Lavender Life Farm is an impressive operation with a fully operating year-round in-person and online store, as well as a cafe and bakery where you can enjoy farm-inspired goods like lavender shortbread or cheesecake and lavender seltzer, teas, and sodas.

Owners Vic and Vickie Bennett have founded and operated spa businesses in NYC and DC and have embraced slower living in Michigan with their lavender farm. They also sell a full line of cuddly, lavender animals that can be heated for soothing effects and a comforting, huggable friend—the sale of each “Xander Friend” goes to donate to a child in foster care.

9. Lavender Bliss Flower Farm

11126 Lange Rd., Bridgman, Mich. 49106

Located just a few miles from the picturesque shores of Lake Michigan, Lavender Bliss Flower Farm offers even more peace and tranquility for visitors who love lavender. You can pick up farm-provided baskets and shears to cut your own bundles of 14 different varieties of lavender. When you’re done, enjoy a cup of fresh lavender lemonade and browse the gift shop.

The farm was opened on the owners’ 50th wedding anniversary and is a labor of love that started with just a few lilac bulbs. It continues to be family-operated and opens in May for the 2025 season.

10. Hickory Creek Lavender Farm

5291 Saint Joseph Avenue, Stevensville, Mich. 49127

Speaking of family-owned lavender farms, Hickory Creek is another family-founded and operated farm. In fact, the 20-acre property has been in the owners’ family for over 100 years. After years of dreaming, the first lavender plants were planted on the farm in 2016. Today, the farm has expanded to offer over 3,000 plants and 11 different varieties of lavender. The farm specializes in custom bundles and arrangements for private events.

The owners explain that the sandy soil of West Michigan makes the ideal growing condition for lavender and all the plants are hand-harvested. The farm sells products at the St. Joseph’s Farm Market and offers U-pick through the summer season. You can also shop online

11. Pause Lavender Farm

8953 County 511 W.5 Road, Rapid River, Mich. 49878

Pause Lavender Farm is located in Michigan’s UP, but you won’t have to travel that far to enjoy their lavender offerings. Actually, to be fair, their physical location isn’t open to the public, but they do ship their lavender plants retail and wholesale and sell bath and product products, all infused with lavender, of course.

Most of the products on their site are available for local pick-up, with some shipping and delivery available for local customers.
