Claudia Finkelstein MD is an academic general internist, recently retired from clinical practice. She remains at MSU, as an Assistant Professor of Medicine providing faculty and staff support in the College of Human Medicine. Over the past thirty years she has provided patient care, medical education (at the undergraduate and residency levels), and served in administrative roles both at the University of Washington and Michigan State College of Human Medicine. She is passionate about health access and equity and has been a medical director at the Seattle King County Clinic (which provides free dental, vision, and medical care to 3,000+ people yearly) since its inception. She has written and spoken extensively about burnout and the healthcare system. She is firmly convinced that well adjusted providers working within humane equitable systems are the key to improving the health of all.
