Theย latest state regulatory reportsย show there are more than 800 recreational marijuana dispensaries across Michigan. But letโ€™s be blunt: Some are simply better than others.

And finding the perfect pot shop to spend your hard-earned cash can be a real challengeโ€”especially when the average ounce of weed is selling for less than $80, andย dozens of retailers are offering even more insane discounts to lure in new, first-time shoppers.

The numbers donโ€™t lie: Michigandersย loveย to smoke weed.

The latestย state sales reportsย show that more than $6.1 billion worth of cannabis products have been sold across Michigan since voters legalized marijuana for recreational use about five years agoโ€”including about $270 million in retail sales tracked during the month of September alone.

And while Michiganders have fueled those sales by tryingย all sorts of new cannabis-infused candies, snacks, beverages, and other goodiesย in recent years, statistics show that Michiganโ€™s favorite cannabis product is also one of its most classic: A good, old-fashioned bag of weed.

Every month for the last five years, the vast majority of the monthly sales tracked at Michiganโ€™s pot shops have been from flowerโ€”which includes bags of marijuana and pre-rolled joints.
