A polling place is where you vote in person on Election Day. Your polling location is based on your registration address and can change between elections, so it’s always important to check before you head out to vote.

Polling locations are often set up in local churches, schools, or other community buildings.

Polls are open in Michigan from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. local time. If you’re in line by 8 p.m., you have the right to stay in line and cast your ballot.

Voting early in-person

Early voting sites often differ from Election Day polling places. Michigan’s early in-person voting period for the Nov. 3 General Election is Oct. 24-Nov. 1. Some communities may offer in-person early voting for an additional day on Monday, Nov. 2, until 4 p.m. Voters can look up their assigned early voting site(s) up to 60 days prior to Election Day.
