Hit the slopes in Harbor Springs
The Highlands at Harbor Springs is Michigan’s premier all-season resort, but winter is by far the most exciting time to visit. During the colder months, the resort offers tons of exciting and family-friendly adventures, including:
- Horseback rides
- Enchanted Trail
- Sno-Go Experience
- Nordic Center (opening soon)
- Fat-tire biking
- Heated pool and hot tubs
- Skiing and snowboarding
If you’re interested in shredding, there are a couple of excellent deals to look into.
First, there’s Midweek Fun on the Slopes: Stay two nights and get the third night 50% off. The deal is valid Sunday through Thursday and select weekends through March 7, 2024. There’s also a Stay-and-Save offer in which guests who book through The Highlands Resort Central Reservations channel get 20% off their lift tickets. Get ready to carve up the mountain and make some snowy memories with your loved ones.
BOGO at a beautiful B&B
Chateau Chantel is all about “quiet luxury, nestled in the heart of the Traverse Wine Coast.” The vineyard B&B is just 12 miles north of Traverse City on the Old Mission Peninsula. So if a peaceful stay in a quaint but luxurious bed-and-breakfast with world-class wines and breathtaking views is your kind of getaway, this deal is for you.
If you book one room for a midweek stay from January through March, you can get a second room for free. Choose from a variety of elegant rooms, each with views of the vineyard and freshwater bays with a terrace or balcony to boot. You can also take advantage of cozy fireplaces, a tasting room, and chef-prepared breakfasts. What’s not to love?
Stay and save at a beachfront hotel
To encourage business in the off-season, Pointes North Beachfront Resort Hotel offers visitors a super sweet deal. From now through the end of April 2024, you can stay one night and get the second night half off. If you want an even longer getaway, the deal applies to the next two days as well (i.e., the fourth night will be 50% off).
The hotel also runs Stay-and-Save specials, which means you’ll get 15% off a three-night stay and 20% off four-night stays. No matter how long you stay, you’ll be mere steps away from East Arm Grand Traverse Bay and close to all the action in Traverse City. You may want to overlap your trip with the Suds & Snow Festival happening in March, which involves a half-mile hike through the backwoods to a venue hosting tons of live music and a vast selection of beer, wine, and cider.
Relax in Rochester
Whether you live in the metro Detroit area and crave a relaxing staycation or want to visit from elsewhere in the state, Royal Park Hotel is the place to go.
Located in the hip and historic downtown of Rochester, the boutique hotel has the design of an elegant English manor home. In addition to 143 curated rooms and suites (that each come with fluffy bathrobes and slippers), there is an onsite restaurant called PARK 600 that serves European-inspired flavors and an exclusive Maker’s Mark Private Select bourbon.
- Accommodations for one night
- Complimentary one-category room upgrade (based on availability)
- Choice of two “On The Rocks” pre-made cocktails
- $30 PARK 600 food & beverage credit
- Late checkout at noon
The deal goes through April 27, 2024, so don’t let it pass you by.
Embark on winter adventures in Muskegon
The Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park is one of the best winter attractions in the state, making it a perfect place for a quick family getaway. Among other activities, you and your crew can:
- Ice skate
- Play adaptive sports
The sports park is currently running a deal for an individual season pass at $105 or a family season pass at just $205, which is good for up to six people in your household. You only have to go a couple times to meet the value of this pass, making it an incredible deal.
Here, you can take your skating off the rink and through an icy path in the woods, snowshoe along the Lake Michigan shoreline, cross-country ski over 15 kilometers of groomed trails, and learn how to luge on a track built by an Olympian.
Ski northern Michigan and save
If taking a ski trip is on your winter bucket list, look no further than the hip and modern Hotel Earl in Charlevoix. Among their exclusive offers is the Ski Northern Michigan & Save Discount, which offers 10% off a two-night stay with a lift ticket. The hotel is just a short drive from three different ski resorts: Boyne Mountain, Nub’s Nob, and Shanty Creek.
With this offer, you can come back from a day on the slopes and enjoy a hot beverage by the fireplace in one of the two onsite bars followed by complimentary s’mores at the outdoor fire pits or a soak under the stars in the hot tub. Now that’s a winter getaway done right.
