These metro Detroit restaurants are open on Christmas Day 2025

Christmas Day is fast approaching. If you have no plans for dinner or have decided against cooking, plenty of metro Detroit restaurants are open for the holiday.

From buffets to multi-course and prix fixe meals, more than two dozen metro Detroit restaurants are there to serve you on Christmas Day.

There’s a wide range of options, with some restaurants offering their regular menus or special menus for Christmas Day.

Many restaurants are also open on Christmas Eve with regular or special menus and hours, such as downtown’s Caucus Club on Congress Street, Aurora Italiana in West Bloomfield and Aurora on the Lake in Commerce Township.

At the Book Tower in downtown Detroit, Bar Rotunda is open 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Christmas Eve, and Le Suprême offers a Christmas Eve brunch 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Keep in mind, some may have hours different from normal. A few of those are listed below.

On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, brunch is available 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Dinner on Christmas Eve is 5-9 p.m., and the bar closes at 10 p.m. On Christmas Day, dinner is 5-8 p.m., and the bar closes at 9 p.m. Regular and special menus available.

Bavarian Inn

Frankenmuth

Known for their fried chicken dinners, Bavarian Inn has several holiday dining options:

• Ultimate Bavarian dinner, a sampling of five meats served family-style featuring Frankenmuth’s chicken, Kasseler Rippchen (smoked pork loin), Sauerbraten (marinated roast beef), bratwurst and schnitzel (breaded loin of pork). It’s $41.99; $11.99 for ages 6-12 and $7 for ages 5 and under.
• All-you-can-eat Frankenmuth-style chicken dinner includes all the sides and homemade ice cream for $35.99; $10 for ages 6-12 and $6 for ages 5 and under.
• All-you-can-eat Frankenmuth-style and baked ham dinner served with all traditional courses is $38.99 per person, $11 for ages 6-12, and $7 for ages 5 and under.
• Christmas Eve and Christmas Day take-out dinner is $159 and serves 4. The dinner includes Frankenmuth chicken, golden-fried shrimp, various sides and homemade bread.

This Japanese restaurant chain has been a mainstay in metro Detroit. All three locations will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, offering A5 Japanese Wagyu Tokyo broil and hibachi turkey breast. Hours vary by location. The Dearborn location will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Christmas Day. Northville will be open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. both days. Troy is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. both days.

Offering its regular menu that includes a wide array of American fare plus international flavors such as tacos, fajitas, shawarma and more. Open until 5 p.m. Christmas Eve and 11 a.m. to midnight Christmas Day.

Bravo! Italian Kitchen

Bravo! Italian Kitchen locations in Lansing, Livonia and Rochester Hills will be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day for dine-in, curbside, pick-up and delivery. The menu includes the restaurant’s premium steaks, crafted pasta specialties, seafood dishes and crispy flatbreads. Hours depend on the location.

17700 Haggerty Road, Livonia, will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Christmas and Christmas Eve.

286 North Adams Road, Rochester Hills, will be open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas and Christmas Eve.

This farm-to-table restaurant that pays tribute to Clara Ford, wife of Henry Ford, at the renovated historic Dearborn Inn, is hosting its first Thanksgiving dinner. A prix fixe, festive multi-course Christmas dinner includes choice of sides and entrees. An à la carte menu is also available. Guests can also purchase an exclusive hand-blown ornament from Dearborn Inn. Only 50 are made per year and each one is $50. The prix fixe dinner is $83 per adult and $53 for children 12 and under. Frankenmuth

Famous for family-style chicken dinners, Zehnder’s has several options for Christmas Day dining:

Christmas Day buffet: Prime rib and ham carving station, fried chicken, salmon and shrimp, plenty of sides, salads and seasonal desserts. The cost is $44.95 for adults, $18.95 for ages 9-11, $16.95 for ages 6-8 and $8.95 for ages 3-5.

Zehnder’s family-style chicken dinner is $38.95 per person and includes all the holiday trimmings plus holiday grill specials, including roasted duck, steak and prime rib at various prices. The family-style Christmas Feast is $44.95 per person and includes an all-you-can-eat family-style chicken dinner along with breaded jumbo shrimp, sliced prime rib and cherry cheesecake for dessert. The children’s family style cost is $18.95 for ages 9-11, $16.95 for ages 6-8 and $8.95 for ages 3-5.

Zehnder’s Christmas to-go meal ($319) serves 10-12 people and will be available for pickup on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. All orders must be received by Friday, Dec. 19, at noon.

On Christmas Day, the main floor dining rooms will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. On Christmas Eve, the main floor dining rooms will be closed.
