Stoners pick the 8 best dispensaries in Michigan

Hundreds of Michiganders voted in our readers’ choice poll to help identify some of the best dispensaries in Michigan.

MICHIGAN—Ask 10 Michigan stoners where to buy weed and you’ll probably get 10 different answers. But when you ask hundreds of them, a pattern starts to emerge.

Last month, we opened a readers’ choice poll in The MichiGanja Report and let people vote on their favorite dispensaries. And a handful of names kept coming up again and again.

All told, nearly 1,000 Michiganders weighed in, and these eight shops stood out from the rest.

Twisted Bee

This one wasn’t close. Twisted Bee lapped the field with 24% of the vote.

Our readers kept coming back to the same core themes: friendly staff, knowledgeable budtenders, strong product selection, fair prices, and a real community energy. Several people mentioned that it still feels personal—like a shop where you’re recognized, not processed.

One voter put it simply: “Friendly staff, very knowledgeable… great vibes.”

According to its website, the store is locally owned and largely serves Cass County, Michiana, and the wider Southwest Michigan community—with a focus on working with local growers and producers to ensure “the freshest, highest-quality cannabis products” for its customers.

House of Dank

House of Dank’s fans showed up loud with about 8% of the vote. And the feedback was consistent: big selection, good deals, and staff that makes each dispensary feel welcoming.

And for whatever it’s worth, nearly a dozen people mentioned something about the “vibes.”

“The stores have a great vibe—welcoming, clean, and never intimidating—and it feels like they really care about the community, not just sales,” one reader wrote in the comment section.

With 15 locations across the state, including in Lansing, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Ann Arbor, New Buffalo, Traverse City, and Saginaw, it’s also a convenient option for many Michiganders.

Dunegrass

A lot of Michigan dispensaries are going for a sleek, sterile, Apple Store sort of vibe. Our readers say Dunegrass is the antidote. And that set the brand apart with about 7% of the vote.

Voters repeatedly commented about a family-owned feel, a knowledgeable staff, a chill atmosphere, and a product lineup that offers variety without feeling too overwhelming.

With four stores in Beulah, Cadillac, Traverse City, and Manistee, Dunegrass touts itself as “Northern Michigan’s cannabis outfitter” on its website. And our readers tend to agree.

Here’s how one Michigander described the vibe: “This isn’t a corporate shop selling bunk as top shelf. The staff … actually cares about the customers and knows what they’re talking about.”

Confluence Cannabis

Confluence Cannabis voters were all on the same wavelength, citing good prices and an inviting store layout. Plus, our readers say they’ve built connections with budtenders there that set this Three Rivers dispensary apart from the rest.

Multiple responses highlighted it being family-owned and “part of the local community.”

“The staff is very friendly and helpful,” one voter wrote. “Selection and prices are the best. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. They also give back to the community.”

All told, this store brought in about 4% of the vote.

JARS Cannabis

JARS Cannabis also scored 4% of the vote and got love for a variety of things that made the brand stand out from other stores: a huge selection, efficient service, and rock-bottom prices.

And with 32 locations and counting, it’s easy to see why so many people have found them.

One voter called out the “unbeatable combination of quality, value, and consistency,” which is basically what every shop claims, except JARS has a bunch of our readers vouching for them.

“Vibes are off the charts,” wrote another voter.

Lume

Lume also brought in 4% of the vote.

Our readers emphasized things like consistency, rewards, availability across the state with 39 different locations, and expert budtenders who guided them toward the best products for them.

Also, several people shared love for one of their signature, in-house strains: Jenny Kush.

“Definitely not the cheapest,” one voter acknowledged, “but they have quality products.”

Mango Cannabis

Another 4% finisher, Mango Cannabis was praised for its bright, welcoming vibe, strong deals, and staff that actually takes time with customers instead of rushing them through a sale.

Our readers also mentioned the comfy waiting rooms inside the dispensaries in both Lansing and New Buffalo, the lessons they’ve learned from the budtenders, a general “treat you like family” energy, and the “insane goodie bags” they managed to score at recent holiday events.

“I always feel welcome every time I visit,” one voter wrote.

The Dude Abides

If you’re looking for a good deal, this one’s for you.

The Dude Abides—with four locations in Mottville, Constantine, Sturgis, and Coldwater—brought in about 3% of the vote. Readers repeatedly cited the store’s generous price-matching policy, which aims to ensure some of the lowest prices on the market.

Voters also credited the shop for having some of the state’s chillest budtenders (who don’t make it weird to ask questions), along with a wide variety of products for different preferences.

One voter summed it up in the comments: “Everything about it. The dude abides.”
