We kick things off with the ultimate metro Detroit Halloween adventure of 2023: The Monster’s Ball at the Russell Industrial Center, Detroit’s largest yearly Halloween party, where some 2,000 haunted souls pack into a one-of-a-kind location that’s oh-so-conveniently surrounded by some of the most terrific dispensaries in the area.
You know the drill here: DJs spinning spine-chilling beats that will keep you on the dance floor all night long, coupled with a totally wicked vibe filled with stilt walkers, high-wire aerialists, acrobats, illusionists, and other mesmerizing stage performers.
This multi-level event boasts several stages, which feels like a haunted house in its own right.
Doors open at 8 p.m., but before that, we recommend a venture to Utopia Gardens in Detroit, known for its top-notch flower strains, to score something new for your nighttime haunts.
Tickets for Monster’s Ball Detroit 2023 range from $25 to $150, catering to different preferences and budgets (so you can spend more on your costume).
Fashion, lasers, mermaids, oh my!
When: Oct. 21
Where: Walkerville
The Dank Girls are conjuring up a spooktacular celebration open to all on Oct. 21 in Walkerville. You can score tickets to this rare co-ed event for $75.
They promise a spellbinding night, kicking off their Halloween Fest with special guests Koala Puffs and Weavers—true cannabis queens who will guide you through an evening of mysterious fun and laughs.
Just as your munchies kick in, head over to a camp of food trucks to get energy for a night of dancing in heated tents and what’s sure to be a mesmerizing laser light show projected into the night sky. In true spooky spirit, the Dank Girls Halloween Fest will feature an entire sensory experience with wandering stilt walkers, fire throwers, hula hoopers, jugglers, and even live mermaids.
Of course, there’s a costume contest, too. Don’t miss some of the other cool tents, where you can puff and paint— plus a free dab tent.
We’ll note here that while Dank Girls events are usually exclusive to women, this Halloween Fest is a rare opportunity for everyone to join in on the fun, and they also have an overnight experience option.

If your goal this spooky season is to join other locals who are dedicated to spreading joy, camaraderie, and appreciation for cannabis wellness, there’s also a Halloween event for you in the Mitten. It’s the highly anticipated return of Dab-O-Ween, set for 6-11 p.m. Oct. 27 in Clio.
While a medical card is not required to attend Dab-O-Ween, this event is a special celebration for the medical cannabis community, so be sure to bring a valid ID.
A” high”-light of the evening will be the Brad Lemke Memorial Costume Contest, where attendees can showcase their creativity and Halloween spirit for cash prizes given for the wildest imaginations.
This Halloween event will capture the magical atmosphere of the season with local musicians, food vendors, photo booths, and even more giveaways.
A super sensational Halloween bazaar and BBQ
When: Oct. 28
Where: Detroit
For a true sensory experience this Halloween, we love the idea of the Halloweed Costume Party hosted by Micro Eats & Smokahontas Bakery. Mark your calendars for 7-11 p.m. Oct. 28 for frights, flavors, and frightful fun.
From flickering candles to mystical ambiance, every corner of the party will be transformed into a haunting wonderland that will transport you to another world while you enjoy live entertainment. Then, dance your way through face painting, tattoo, and character-filled artist booths, all while reveling in the Halloween spirit.
Best of all, it’s sure to be one of the fiercest Halloween costume competitions this year. They encourage guests to take it to the next level creativity-wise. Why? Well, there’s a Halloween crown at stake, of course.
Capture the essence of the night with the petrifying photo booth, where you’ll strike a pose, show off your costume, and flash your best spooky smile. Discover hidden treasures and find the best munchie-fueled grub session with food provided by The Rub 313. They’ll also host a haunted raffle with spooky prizes up for grabs.
Tickets for the Halloweed Costume Party are $15, and VIP tickets are available for $60, which include champagne, charcuterie, a 420-friendly gift bag, plus entry into a $100 bong giveaway.

New friends in the wicked forests of Michigan

Last but certainly not least, if you’re looking for a riveting Halloween event where you simply break into your own cannabis stash and venture out into the frightful forests, Glenlore Trails is the most terrifying event we can think of to visit stoned.
The Haunted Forest: CarnEvil is not your typical Halloween experience. It’s an otherworldly adventure with no direct tie to ganja—but it’s the perfect place to experience the mystery and enchantment of twisted trees and haunting illuminations while on a psychotropic plant.
We love this event because it’s not just a Halloween event but a celebration of life, art, and everything we love about this season in Michigan. Besides the purely whimsical walk you’ll take, you’ll find captivating performers like fire-breathers, stilt-walkers, and acrobats wandering around.
Adult tickets are $25 (this is a family-friendly event).
Prepare yourself for a sensory overload of frights, delights, and mind-altering fun here.
