MICHIGANโ€”Whether youโ€™re here for the hype, the policy, or just to keep your stash stocked with the good stuff, hereโ€™s your weekly dispatch of cannabis news from across the state:

BIG EXIT: One of Michiganโ€™s largest cannabis operators is leaving. TerrAscendโ€”the parent company behind Gage and Cookiesโ€”is pulling the plug on all 20 of its dispensaries and four grow facilities across the state. About 250 Michigan workers will lose their jobs as a result.ย

FAIRGROUND FLEX: Flower Expo is coming back to Michigan and bringing a two-day weed bonanza to the Allegan County Fairgrounds on Aug. 27 and 28. The trade show is designed for those who work in the cannabis business, with a big focus on product education for budtenders.

CRAFT CRUSH: Mi Loud, a small-batch grower in Jackson, is making big noise in Michiganโ€™s flower scene for its focus on terpene-rich strains, slow cures, and medical-grade quality that hits way above the market average. Steve Neavling at the Detroit Metro Times has the full scoop.

JOINT SUPREMACY: Jeeter is officially the nationโ€™s top-selling pre-roll brand, according to a new report that ranked US sales across 13 states. Michigan-based budget brands Cali-Blaze and Dragonfly also made the top 10, with Dragonfly moving more units than any other brand.

VAPE CRASH: The skyโ€™s the limitโ€”unless youโ€™re Sky Labs. The Mount Morris-based processor behind brands like Bossy and Flight has officially lost its license and is shutting down operations after backing out of a legal fight with the state regulators over a laundry list of alleged violations.

SUMMER TOUR: Mitten Extracts is hitting the road for a statewide summer tour, bringing deals, limited-edition merch, and Michigan-made munchies to dispensaries across the state through September. Stops include The Bloomery, JARS, King of Budz, Levels, Timber, and more.ย

ROAD TRIP RECS: City Pulse columnist Chris Silva recently published his official summer travel guide for Michigan stonersโ€”including suggestions for misty hikes in the Porcupine Mountains, sculpture park strolls in Marquette, and movie nights at the Getty Drive-In.
