John James is sending out mailers claiming he voted to give Michiganders a $3,100 tax cut, but that estimate is based on what would Michiganders would have paid if older tax breaks expired—not on what they paid last year. The mailer also leaves out that he voted for Medicaid and food assistance cuts.
