Scammers Prey on Spartans After Mass Shooting

By Kyle Kaminski

February 23, 2023

MICHIGAN—Scammers have been selling unlicensed Michigan State University merchandise, and claiming that the proceeds will go toward the Spartan Strong Fund, which supports those most critically impacted by the deadly on-campus shooting last week.

Attorney General Dana Nessel is urging Michiganders to do their research before donating. Only officially licensed and approved merchandise from the following vendors support the Spartan Strong Fund:

  • Spartan Spirit Shop
  • Nudge Printing
  • Colosseum
  • Underground Printing
  • Blue 84
  • CDI Corp.
  • A. Dean Watkins
  • 4Imprint
  • Sewing Concepts
  • Zephyr
  • Gametime Sidekicks
  • Underground Printing – Spartan Strong

Those who have seen products or services that do not appear to be licensed can report them to MSU at [email protected] or by calling in a report to 517-355-3434. If you believe you’ve been a victim of a scam, you can call in a complaint to the state at 877-765-8388.
