Fellow Michigander,
This week’s newsletter is a chaotic ride—just like the Gravitron after one too many gummies.
Keep scrolling for your unofficial stoner’s guide to surviving the county fair, a surprisingly good vape drop from Mitten Extracts, and the deal of the week from Stiiizy. Also on deck: A weed-themed airline pop-up and a post-dinner dog walk powered by mini joints.

It starts with a gummy in the parking lot. Then, suddenly you’re hiding behind the 4-H barn, convinced the goats are gossiping about you. We’ve all been there—or at least, close, right?
Whether you’re spun out on the Gravitron or just need to get your shit together before facing the corndog line, this is your survival guide to being too high in the most chaotic place imaginable.

BALDWIN BUST: Authorities say they uncovered a full-blown weed empire in Lake County, seizing more than 13,000 plants and hundreds of pounds of marijuana from an unlicensed, 17,000-square-foot building in rural Webber Township. Multiple people were arrested on site and the Michigan State Police claims the haul was worth over $10 million on the street.
SURVIVAL MODE: Prices are still plunging on Michigan’s oversaturated weed market but a handful of smaller, independent operators—like Greenhouse of Walled Lake—say they’re surviving the slump thanks to loyal customers, strong branding, and smart business moves.
GREAT LAKES GRIT: Michigan is still on track to surpass California in monthly cannabis sales despite having about one-third of the population. If the trend continues, Michigan could soon become the largest legal cannabis market in North America—and maybe the world.
TRIBAL TRAILBLAZERS: In a first-of-its-kind deal, the Bay Mills Indian Community has signed a new cannabis compact with the state—making it the only tribal nation in Michigan that’s now fully licensed to begin selling its own cannabis products in dispensaries across the state.
REGULATORY RUNDOWN: State regulators dropped the hammer in June, fining 25 cannabis businesses statewide for violations ranging from the sloppy to the straight-up sketchy. The biggest hit: Plan B Wellness was fined $78,000 for a laundry list of issues, including stashing 20,000 vape carts in an unapproved back room and selling products that didn’t pass testing.

Our newest section—MichiGanja in Review—is all about putting Michigan-made cannabis products to the test and deciding whether they’re actually worth your hard-earned stash money.
Every other week, I’ll be putting the spotlight on something new on the market and offering my honest take—no fluff, no fake praise, just real reviews from a longtime Michigan stoner.
|
First up? A surprising win from Mitten Extracts, which just released a nostalgic summer vape pack that has me rethinking what’s possible with flavored, terpene-infused distillate.
Got a Michigan cannabis product worth reviewing? Let me know and I’ll check it out.

Some Michigan dispensaries are getting a weed-themed airline experience this summer—because apparently weed shopping wasn’t immersive enough.
No one asked for this, truly. But Jeeter is doing it anyway.
|
The Mile High Experience is a traveling pop-up complete with real airplane seats, in-flight photo ops, and a vibe best described as Delta Lounge meets dispensary parking lot.
It already touched down last week at Dispo in Romeo, and now it’s headed to Uniq in Monroe this weekend, with more Michigan stops lined up through October.
Why? Great question. You can ask them when you get there.
But if you’re into exclusive vape drops, they’ve got two that are only available at the pop-up events: Biscough (a hybrid that tastes like spicy cookies) and First Class (an earthy indica with heavy pine notes). Both come packaged in a limited-edition Mile High Box for $45.
The first 10 customers who make a Jeeter purchase each day will also get a free “First Class Bag” upgrade, plus everyone else gets 20% off Jeeter products all day long. Just sign up with your email, take a selfie next to the fake airplane bathroom, and try to enjoy the ride.

Stiiizy is popping up at Lucky’s Cannabis in Muskegon this weekend—with buy-one, get-one deals on vapes and infused pre-rolls from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug 9.
|
If you’re already a fan of the brand, then it’s definitely worth the trip to score a deal. If not, it’s still fun to see a big brand show up and talk shop with customers.
These vendor days are always a great excuse to ask questions, try something new, and watch companies flex their marketing budgets with some cool freebies and discounts.
|
My post-dinner ritual? Dogs, sidewalks, and one perfectly portioned joint.
|
Higgs mini pre-rolls are never going to blow your mind—but that’s kind of the point.
These little guys are consistent, compact, and seem to clock in at exactly the right runtime for a post-supper dog walk around the block with my two dogs, Freddie and Frankie.
I usually try to avoid the big, national cannabis companies with slick branding. But I always keep a pack of these around for one reason: They always get the job done.
Got your own MichiGanja in the Wild moment to share? Send in your best Michigan-made cannabis product pics out in the world for a chance to be featured in next week’s edition.
