Fellow Michigander,
There’s a very specific kind of regret that hits around 10 p.m. when your grinder is empty and your local dispensary has already closed up shop for the night. I’ve been there. It sucks.
So this week, I did something about it.
I triple-checked the late-night hours at every pot shop in Michigan and pulled together a freshly verified list of the ones that actually stay open late, including a few that never close at all.
Keep scrolling for this week’s biggest headlines, including a farewell to a legendary Ann Arbor dispensary and the grand opening of yet another new store in Traverse City. I also have the inside scoop on some of the best pre-rolled joints on the market and where to get them cheap.

It’s 11 p.m. and you’re out of weed. You could’ve reupped earlier, but you didn’t.
And now your only option is regret.
If that sounds familiar, I’ve got your back. Just bookmark this week’s top story for a comprehensive list of Michigan dispensaries that stay open late until midnight or later.

HOMEGROWN HUSTLE: Two Michigan-based cannabis companies are spreading their roots out of state. Ann Arbor’s C3 Industries is opening a new dispensary in Connecticut, marking its 29th retail location nationwide. Meanwhile, Redemption Cannabis is expanding into West Virginia, where founder Ryan Basore was once incarcerated for a non-violent cannabis offense.
LAST CHANCE: Time is running out for customers at Gage and Cookies dispensaries. TerrAscend is shutting down all 20 of its Michigan stores this summer—citing the state as “an extremely difficult market”—which means the clock is ticking to grab whatever is left on the shelves. Because once it’s gone, it’s not getting restocked.
BAD INFLUENCE: A mentor at a juvenile detention center in Wayne County is facing charges after allegedly giving cannabis-infused gummies to four 17-year-olds in custody. Staff launched an investigation after noticing the teens were lethargic, incoherent, and visibly impaired.
END OF AN ERA: Arbors Wellness in Ann Arbor is reportedly closing up shop this month. The dispensary made what’s believed to be Michigan’s first-ever legal recreational sale back in 2019, when it sold a handful of pre-rolled joints to the late cannabis legend, John Sinclair.
FIRE STATION FIGHT: C3 Industries wants to open a new dispensary inside an old fire station in Pinckney and is working with village officials in hopes of securing the town’s only license.
TAX TROUBLE: Cannabis prices are still sliding across Michigan. And with less tax revenue, local governments could soon start feeling the squeeze. Industry leaders are also warning that small growers won’t survive the state’s over-saturated cannabis market without reform.

Let’s talk about storage. Because if your weed is sitting out in a baggie on the kitchen counter—or worse, next to the toaster—you’re doing it wrong. This week, Dr. Evan Litinas has everything you need to know so you don’t ruin your stash (or accidentally dose your dog).

Lume is everywhere—and now, even more so in Traverse City.
|
Michigan’s most sprawling cannabis retailer recently opened its 39th location, this time on Munson Avenue, not far from the Cherry Capital Airport. It’s Lume’s second store in the city, joining a growing footprint Up North that includes Kalkaska, Petoskey, Honor, and Gaylord.
To celebrate, both Traverse City stores are hosting a grand opening sale this Saturday, July 19, with 40% off all orders over $60—including on BUZZN, Lume’s cannabis-infused beverage.

This week’s featured deal comes from Information Entropy in New Buffalo. I stopped by on my way home from Chicago and found an absolute steal on some of the tastiest weed in Michigan.
|
The deal: 5 for $35 on all pre-rolled joints from Voyage Bloom. Budtenders there told me this promotion will run through at least the end of July and may even roll through August.
And it’s fantastic timing because Voyage Bloom just dropped a whole bunch of new strains, including Wildberry Slurmz, a remix of their fan-favorite Slurmz, and my new personal favorite: Chocolate Cherries. It’s gassy, rich, and layered with notes of cherry, cocoa, and white pepper.

This week’s featured photo comes from one of my favorite stretches of the Lansing River Trail—a quiet, hilly patch lined with powerlines and solitude, perfect for lighting up before blasting off on my electric unicycle (yes, I ride one, and yes, it’s as fun as it sounds).
In hand: a pre-rolled joint of a strain called Murder Mitten from Beyond Green, a tiny Hazel Park grower that’s only putting out about 50 lbs. of weed a month from a 3,000-square-foot facility.
|
|
|
These joints are packaged like shotgun shell casings, which—gimmick or not—earns a solid 10/10 for presentation. The strain is an in-house cross of Permanent Marker and Alien Mintz, though Permanent Marker’s classic gas and funk absolutely dominate the vibe here. Expect a heavy, heady onset that settles deep in the body, ideal for zoning out into some good music.
Murder Mitten is the only Beyond Green strain available in prepack form, which means it’s hard to track down. But if you spot it? Scoop it. This is the kind of weed that still feels like a secret.
