These are the best musical festivals coming to Michigan in 2025. From rock and country to folk and jazz, there’s something for everyone.

There’s no shortage of music festivals taking place in Michigan. Whether you want to bang your head to some heavy metal, sway to the sound of smooth jazz, or sing along to your favorite country songs, there’s a Michigan music festival to deliver exactly what you’re looking for. Some festivals secure nationally recognized names as headliners, while others put emerging local talent in the spotlight.

1. Ann Arbor Folk Festival

Established and up-and-coming performers will take the stage at the annual Ann Arbor Folk Festival on January 24 and 25. Held at Hill Auditorium on the University of Michigan’s campus, this two-day event is a fundraiser for The Ark, an acoustic and folk music venue in Ann Arbor. The 2025 lineup includes Waxahatchee, Josh Ritter, Jobi Riccio, Toad the Wet Sprocket, Bruce Cockburn, The Milk Carton Kids, and more. Tickets start at $47.50 for upper balcony seats and $70 for lower balcony and mezzanine level seats.

2. Motor City Blues Festival

Listen to six stellar blues musicians under one roof at the 2025 Motor City Blues Festival. King George, Tucka, Pokey Bear, J-Wonn, West Love, and Ronnie Bell will all perform at the event on March 29 at Fox Theatre. Tickets start at $114. 

3. Movement Music Festival

As the birthplace of techno, Detroit is the perfect host city for the Movement Music Festival. This annual electronic dance music festival celebrates Detroit’s role in the evolution of electronic music and is a highly anticipated event year after year. 

The 2025 festival will take place from May 24 to May 26 at Hart Plaza. The lineup hasn’t been announced yet, but previous events featured performances by Ludacris, Fatboy Slim, Skrillex, Diplo, and Wu-Tang Clan. Performances take place on six different stages, including the Movement Stage, which is the main stage located in the amphitheater, and the Detroit Stage, which is dedicated to local talent. 

In addition to music, the festival also has a pre-party, immersive art installations and murals, plenty of food options ranging from falafel sandwiches to chicken on a stick, and an area to purchase alcoholic beverages and enjoy views of the Detroit River. 

Tickets are on sale now, and prices range from $139 plus fees for one-day general admission to $429 plus fees for three-day VIP access.

4. Electric Forest 

Electric Forest is another eagerly anticipated event that attracts electronic music lovers from across the country every year (USA Today named it one of the 10 best music festivals in the U.S.). The festival—slated for June 19 through June 22— takes place at Double JJ Ranch in Rothbury and features the famed Sherwood Forest, which comes alive at night thanks to colorful lights and transcendental artwork. 

The 2025 performer lineup includes Tiësto, Fisher, Barry Can’t Swim, Liquid Stranger, and many others. Featured activities include daily yoga and a silent disco. Food vendor information hasn’t been released yet. 

Ticket sales for the general public begin on December 6, and there are a variety of tiers and packages to choose from. Festival-goers can camp in multiple areas on-site, or they can book a hotel nearby and utilize the shuttle service for transportation to and from the festival.

5. Summer Solstice Jazz Festival

Start your summer off on the right note at East Lansing’s annual Summer Solstice Jazz Festival. This multi-stage outdoor event will be held in downtown East Lansing on June 20 and 21, 2025, and feature music by local, regional, and national acts. The festival is free to attend and also has an activity area for kids, food vendors, an educational stage, and an after-party. 

6. Blissfest

Blissfest is a three-day event highlighting folk, world, and roots music on a 200-acre farm in Harbor Springs. 2024 headliners included roots band The Wood Brothers and Grammy-winner Sarah Jarosz, and the event also featured workshops, a silent disco, craft and food vendors, and open mic sessions.

The next festival is scheduled for July 11 to July 13, and tickets go on sale in January.

7. Beaver Island Music Festival

If you’re looking to unplug and reconnect with nature while enjoying music across a variety of genres, the Beaver Island Music Festival is the event for you. Attendees need to take a boat or plane to Beaver Island and follow signs through the woods until they reach Beaver Island Hideaway Campground. 

The lineup for the 2025 event, slated for July 17 through July 19, hasn’t been shared yet, and tickets aren’t available for purchase at this time. You can camp on-site for free or stay in town if you prefer a less rustic lodging option. 

8. Upheaval Festival

Rock out at the Upheaval Festival in Grand Rapids on July 18 and 19, 2025. This annual rock music festival—Michigan’s largest—takes place in Belknap Park and has attracted major headliners like Godsmack, Killswitch Engage, Saliva, Bring Me the Horizon, and Sevendust. 

The 2025 lineup hasn’t been announced yet, but tickets are already on sale. Single-day and two-day general admission tickets cost $55 and $99 respectively, while VIP tickets start at $125. 

9. Faster Horses Festival

Faster Horses Festival is a marquee event for country music lovers in Michigan. Details for the 2025 festival are forthcoming, but historically, the event has taken place over three days in mid-July at the Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. Some of country music’s biggest names have performed at this festival, including Old Dominion, Jelly Roll, Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Shania Twain, and Zac Brown Band. 

Most attendees choose to camp on-site at one of 18 designated camping areas. Tickets aren’t available yet, but if you’re curious about pricing, last year’s general admission tickets started at $289. 

10. Breakaway Music Festival

Like Upheaval, the Michigan edition of Breakaway Music Festival, a growing multi-city music fest, also takes place at Grand Rapids’ Belknap Park. But this festival—scheduled to take place August 15 and 16—is all about pop and hip-hop music. 2025 performers haven’t been named yet, but Wiz Khalifa, Big Gigantic, Marshmello, and The Chainsmokers have all previously played at the event. Last year’s festival also had a CELSIUS Lounge, SHEIN Style Station, a silent disco, and an after-party.

Single-day tickets are already sold out, but you can purchase two-day general admission tickets for $129 or two-day VIP admission for $229.

11. Wheatland Music Festival

Wheatland Music Festival is a celebration of the arts, with workshops and demonstrations, dances and jam sessions, and, of course, plenty of live music. The 160-acre festival site in Remus welcomes thousands of festival-goers every year for three days of family-friendly fun. At the Kids Market Place, children can sell homemade art and crafts, and for slightly older children, Middle Ground hosts activities, programs, and musical performances throughout the festival. 

The 2025 festival is slated for September 5 through September 7, although tickets aren’t on sale yet, and the lineup is still in the works. 

12. Michigan Irish Music Festival

Enjoy all types of Irish music, from traditional to folk to contemporary Celtic rock, at the Michigan Irish Music Festival. This cultural event features music on six different stages, activities like dance and Irish language classes, and several food vendors serving traditional Irish fare and other festival food. 

Michigan Irish Music Festival 2025 is scheduled to take place from September 11 through September 14 at Heritage Landing in Muskegon. Tickets go on sale on St. Patrick’s Day
